I had the privilege of color grading SVT’s documentary series Story, which delves into powerful, deeply personal narratives, including Jenny Küttim’s escape from Jehovah’s Witnesses, the tragic 2019 plane crash in Umeå, and Axel Schylström’s recovery after surviving a 16,000-volt electrical accident.

Each episode presented a unique storyline, which meant tailoring the grade to match the distinct tone and cinematography of each. The footage, captured beautifully by DP Adam Nilsson, set a strong foundation. Key shots pre-graded by the DP served as helpful references, but replicating someone else’s work across an entire episode brought its own challenges.

My goal throughout was to let the high-quality footage shine while maintaining visual consistency and subtly enhancing the emotional depth of each story. It was an honor to contribute to a series that shares such impactful and resonant stories.
